This work was an exercise in deconstruction and re-construction. I started by removing the pre-stretched canvas covering the frame, and sanding the rough wood down. Next, to break its form, the square frame was cut and stitched together and linked with chain. Colour was applied in an organic way so that the source materials could still be recognised. A distressed aged look was chosen for the wood finish while neon thread and metallic blue chain provided a youthful counterbalance.
